The Things I Keep Coming Back To
Chris Bennett, known artistically as Edub, is a self-taught painter, poet, and creator behind Chaos Farms. He came to visual art in his early thirties, not through formal training, but through a need to make sense of life, suffering, love, nature, family, and the questions that never seemed to leave him alone.
His work rarely begins with a finished idea. Paintings, poems, symbols, birds, suns, water, trees, and recurring forms tend to arrive first; meaning often comes later. Over time, he began noticing that the same ideas were speaking across different pieces. That recognition became Cycles Speak, a symbolic language exploring growth, breaking, surrender, becoming, and return.
Those paintings, poems, and symbols eventually became his first published book, Cycles Speak: Fire Beneath the Waves, written and illustrated by Chris and published through Chaos Farms Press. Chaos Farms grew from the same impulse: to create a place where art, story, nature, imagination, and real life are allowed to belong together.
Chris lives with his wife and three children, and much of what he creates is shaped by the ordinary things around him—the land, family, memory, changing seasons, and the strange way meaning often hides inside everyday life. His work has been exhibited publicly, including in Times Square, New York, and Miami, but recognition is secondary to what matters most to him: connection. Different lives. Different stories. The cycles still speak.
